Alumni

In most cases, libraries cannot offer alumni access to databases and other electronic resources due to the publisher's licence restrictions.

Instead, many public libraries offer access to some research databases, study spaces and support. Large public libraries are the Library of Birmingham and the Manchester City Library.

In addition, there are specialised institutions, e.g.:

• Business and Intellectual Property Centre (BIPC) offers face-to-face services in London, Birmingham, Manchester and many other places around the UK, incl. free or low-cost training.

• Small Business Research + Enterprise (a former City Business Library) offers business resources and free or low-cost training.
