Collection development
QAHE Library collection development broadly adheres to the partner universities’ collection development policies.
As a rule, QAHE Library purchases:
1 printed copy of required/core textbooks per 20 students per campus, up to five copies; more if there is sustained demand.
1 printed copy of recommended textbooks per campus.
Ebook copies (if available) of all required, core and recommended textbooks unless provided by the partner university.
Additional copies are purchased on demand.
Recommendations
We welcome recommendations from academic staff and students. Our preferred supplier of printed and electronic books is Brown's; please use their site to research printed and electronic book availability; and then submit a request.
Inspection copies
Lecturers can request electronic inspection copies of textbooks and monographs. Please see the Library Hub (staff only) for details.
Stock retention and withdrawal
The library aims to update its stock continuously. However, it retains up to three editions of textbooks unless the older editions' content is outdated.
