Office 365 is a collection of Microsoft applications, such as Word, Power Point, Excel and Outlook.
As a student, you have free access to these applications, as long as you are a student.
To access Office 365 you will need to sign in, using your university credentials.
Go to https://www.office.com/
Click on 'Sign in' button
Type in your university email address:
London Metropolitan - example@my.londonmet.ac.uk
Solent - example@solent.ac.uk
Ulster - example@ulster.ac.uk
Your password will be the same as you study portal (Weblearn, Online Learning or Blackboard pages).
You can choose to download Office 365 applications or use the online versions instead.
Both have benefits and drawbacks.
Online applications
Benefits:
Work on any device;
Save work on cloud, enabling easy access from multiple devices.
Drawbacks:
Not all functions work;
Requires constant internet connection.
Desktop applications
Benefits:
Full functionality enabled;
Work online and offline.
Drawbacks:
Not supported on all devices (for example, Chromebook is not supported).
To access Office 365 online applications, go to office.com website and sign in using your university credentials (see guidance above).
On the left hand side you will see a collection of buttons.
Select Apps on the bottom of the list.
A new page will open and you should see a list of apps available for you to use.
Click on the icon of the app you would like to use!
You can download dektop applications of Office 365 on your personal computer.

On the top right corner you will see a button 'Install Apps'.
Click on it and select 'Microsoft 365 apps'.
A new page will open - under Office apps & devices you will find a button called 'Install Office'. Click on it.
A file will be downloaded. Run the file to begin installation.
Make sure your device is fully charged and connected to the inter.
To use Office 365 applications on your personal device, you will need to active your licence.
Your licence is provided by your university, via university credentials.
Simply open one of the Office applications (Word or Excel or Power Point).
Select default file type - Office Open XML Format.
When prompted, login using your university email address and password (same as accessing Office 365 website, see guidance above).
